Vintage Chinese Hand-Carved Jade Phoenix Bird Figurine 31720

A vintage – 1940s? – hand-carved jade figurine of a stylized bird figure based on the story of the Phoenix, the bird that rises from the ashes.  Heavy enough to serve as a paperweight, it’s a stunning figure on its own and would make a remarkable addition to a larger bonsai planter.

The jade is heavily marbled in shades of charcoal, deepest green and white.

Measures 3 ½” in height, 3” in length.
